GNEC Hackathon '25 AI Ethics UX/UI Design

Fairalyze AI: Bias Detection Tool

Developed during the GNEC Hackathon to detect and analyze biases in AI models, addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals 5 & 10.

Figma JavaScript ES6+ HTML5 / CSS3 Python Logic

Case Study: Fairalyze AI (GNEC Hackathon 2025)

Auditing dashboard uncovering demographic bias in predictive models.

The Challenge

AI models can perpetuate societal bias. We built a tool to help engineers evaluate disparate impact prior to deployment.

My Role & Approach

Led UI/UX design and front-end development during the 48-hour sprint, turning parity equations into visual risk charts.

Key Solution

Disparate impact risk gauges, demographic acceptance charts, and clear data balancing recommendations.

Outcome

Presented to the GNEC jury with strong positive feedback, demonstrating high-pressure rapid prototyping.

Web App UI Design Vanilla JS

Responsive Calculator Application

A clean, responsive calculator built with vanilla JavaScript. Features robust state management, chained operation math, and tactile key animations.

HTML5 CSS3 Grid JavaScript ES6+ State Logic

Case Study: Responsive Calculator

Architecting an error-tolerant mathematical parser and tactile responsive interface.

The Objective

Build a reliable calculator without external libraries or `eval()`, ensuring error tolerance for complex chained operations.

Design & UI

High-contrast button clusters, push animations, and flexible CSS Grid adapting across all screen sizes.

State Architecture

Decoupled state parser storing operands and dynamically formatting localized outputs with comma separators.

Outcome

Mastered DOM manipulation, event handling, edge-case math debugging, and state management in vanilla JS.
